Security Fencing for CityLink

If you travel on Melbourne’s road during peak hour you will know about the heavy congestion right across the city. Melbourne is continuing to grow at a rapid pace, with the population expected to rise to 7.7 million by 2051. With passengers travelling to Melbourne Airport expected to double by 2033 adding over 25 000 vehicles using the CityLink-Tullamarine freeway by this time.

To cater for this growth, and to combat an already heavily congested road network, the CityLink Tulla Widening project will ultimately increase the capacity of the road by 30 per cent. The project involves adding new lanes and other measures to improve traffic flow across 24 kilometres of freeway between the CityLink tunnels and Melbourne Airport. This will provide significant travel time savings between Melbourne Airport and Power Street during peak periods.

Lee Group role in the initial stages of the CityLink project has been to install some Security Fencing at the Footscray Road staging area.
