Level Crossing Removal Project, Melbourne
Case Study | Level Crossing Removal Project | Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Lee Group played a critical role in Melbourne’s Level Crossing Removal Project, one of Victoria’s largest infrastructure programs, supporting the removal of over 110 level crossings and rail line upgrades across key metropolitan corridors. As a trusted commercial and industrial fencing contractor in Melbourne, we delivered high-performance fencing and security solutions tailored for live rail environments.
Our scope of works included the supply and installation of rail delineation fencing, DEFCON 358 high-security mesh panels, Colourbond steel fencing, architectural feature fencing, and noise walls. We also delivered non-conductive fencing solutions, including FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer), HDPE, and timber paling fencing, specifically suited for electrically sensitive rail environments where safety and insulation are critical.
In addition, we installed specialised systems such as weldmesh garden fencing and gates, razor wire security fencing, acoustic-clad steel panels for substations, and chain wire fencing with integrated pedestrian and vehicle access gates. All systems were designed and installed in accordance with Australian Standards, ensuring long-term durability, safety, and compliance across critical infrastructure sites.
Working within active rail corridors required strict planning, coordination, and adherence to safety protocols. Our team collaborated closely with principal contractors, site managers, and project stakeholders to deliver works on schedule while maintaining operational continuity and site safety.
This project highlights Lee Group’s expertise in commercial fencing, rail infrastructure fencing, and high-security perimeter solutions across Melbourne and Victoria. Our focus remains on delivering reliable, compliant, and long-lasting fencing systems that perform under demanding site conditions.
