Security Fencing at the DSTO

The Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) is the lead Defence organisation charged with applying science and technology to protect and defend Australia and its national interests. Our Defcon Security Fencing division was awarded the contract to enhance site security and rectify inadequacies in accessing the Defence Science & Technology Organisation at Fisherman’s Bend.

The new fencing included large automatic sliding gates. The existing fence was retained and altered to fit two large automated gates. Due to the large size of these gates they were fabricated in four pieces and assembled on site. Approximately 70 metres of 3.6 metre high of new Palisade Security Fencing was fabricated to match the existing fence and installed to the perimeter of new buildings. These areas also had automatic security gates installed for maximum security. The close proximity to the ocean was a significant factor when designing and fabricating the new fencing and gates to ensure durability of the structure.
